We own a very successful interior trim carpentry and cabinet shop. For the most part we have tried to keep away from hiring them to work for us or doing work for them. We are still owed money from a few elders we did work for and we will never see it. We have two working for us right now and they are good employees. Not sure what will happen when the shit hits the fan when I turn in my DA letter.

Not on jw.org - comments regarding bad Jehovah's Witness employees
by jwfacts ini used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.
i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.
i have received a couple recently by email.. i have cut quite a bit out of the following email i received so that the person and company cannot be indentified, but you will get the message.. .

I now have a law degree!
by digderidoo inhi guys, i don't really post on here much anymore, having been on here since 2001. this site helped me out in the early days and has been a great support system for all of my past jw issues.
like many others i was discouraged from an education so that i could window clean and pioneer in my youth during the 80's.
having spent many years post my jw exit in alcoholism and periods of drugs, i decided to clean myself up 7 years ago by attending aa, i was still a window cleaner ... at the time i wrote extensively on here about my issues.

Congratulations on getting your education and I wish you much success in getting your PhD. More importantly congratulations on getting sober and staying sober because with out doing that you would not be successful in school. It takes a lot of courage to admit your problem and then take action and continue to do the right thing. Send a big hug to you for your accomplishments!

does the BORG follow OSHA standards at KH/ASSEMBLY builds?
by goingthruthemotions inhad a discussion with my wife about kh/assembly hall builds and i told her i don't believe the watchtower society follow osha standards on there build sites.
she trumpted it up that the borg follows stringent pratices and there standards would be more strict.
i laughed and said....ya i don't think so.

I know they use to allow children on the builds but I think that was stopped a number of years ago. I know you have to be 16 and I think baptized now to be on the site. More than 25 years ago we were on a KH building site and a 16 years old who just got her drivers license backed into a 2 year old and she died from the injuries.

Maybe he was able to choose his jewelry from the jewelry donations coming in from inheritances! I love jewelry but for a group of men who take a vow of poverty and tell others to not be materialistic he sure has gone overboard with it.

"We Love You All Very Much"
by Apognophos ini'm not sure if this has been discussed before.
you guys might recall that when the 2013 yearbook came out, the letter from the governing body ended a bit unusually:.
we love you all very much.

I can't believe they are so arrogant to autograph a bible, they are so narsistic.

I know in different areas of the country Jehovah's Witnesses look at gun ownership differently. If you have guns strictly to acquire food they don't say much but if you own hand guns in our area they will not appoint them as servants. Many JW's would never admit they own guns because they are pacifists and it is actually frowned upon by many.
You may want to write a letter to the local congregation and let them know what is going on and just let them know there are many neighbors upset with it and you were hoping they could assist in the matter. If they get a complaint they will talk to the head of that household. I would never sign my name to it though because you never know who they are connect to and if they will protect them.
You may want to contact an attorney first to see what your rights are and if they are violating the law. I hope you can get this worked out so you can have some peace.

I am sure most JW's will handle it exactly like they have for more than 100 years. Quendi and Backseat Devil you both made some good points.

No Common Sense (About Convention)
by EmptyInside inwell, the guilt trip worked in getting them to the international convention, even though, for some,it put their health at great risk.. i'm glad that an elderly relative showed some common sense and realized she couldn't make the convention.
but, people still treated her oddly about not going.. one of her friends, who had a stroke in the past, thought about not attending, only to get screamed at by her so-called friends.
she did go,but it was hard on her.

It has always bothered me that ones who are sick will still go to a meeting not caring if others catch what they have, they are very unreasonable. Years ago we use to sit out in the dead heat of the summer for the DC and you would see elderly ones and others with health problems sitting there proving to all they were so faithful to Jehovah. Drives me nuts!

I LOST IT ... my JW rant today
by talesin inwell, i just couldn't hold it in anymore.. today, i exploded, talking to my mother about the family inheritance and how i am being screwed.. i told her i had been so angry lately, and just had to tell her what i was thinking, because the anger was slipping out at times, and i was making snide anti-jw comments .... which is not my way.
i'm usually quite direct.. i told her that i couldn't take being treated like a piece of dog you-know-what on the bottom of someone's shoe any longer.. that in the past couple of years, i had learned so much filth about the jws that i was getting more and more disgusted day by day.. i started shouting ... there is nothing wrong with me!!!
why do i have to be shunned when they hide child molesters???.

I was wondering the same thing as Lois. I am glad you were able to get those feelings out. I can't begin to imagine the pain you went through on many levels. I hope life is treating you much better.

Shunning Among the Shunned
by Quendi ini wonder if anyone else has had this experience or know of others who have.
when i was disfellowshipped, i approached another disfellowshipped person after the memorial celebration and asked him over for some refreshments and conversation.
he turned down my invitation saying that the elders had told him that he could not even talk to other disfellowshipped persons unless and until both he and they were reinstated!

The WTBT$ will do everything they can to keep control over anyone they possible can. I knew this was the case but I know many do not abide by those rules. The more people they can keep you away from the more you will break down and come back. Sick!!
